Truth in Lending (Regulation Z) 2022 Threshold Adjustment

The Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System and the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection issued final rules amending Regulation Z to update the exemption threshold for consumer credit transactions. Based on the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for Urban Wage Earners and Clerical Workers, the threshold amount is increased from $58,300 to $61,000 effective January 1, 2022. The agencies also revised official commentaries to memorialize the calculation methodology for future annual adjustments.
