Decision on Issuance, Basic Characteristics, and Circulation of Additional Denominations of 1 KM Coinage

The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued additional 1 KM coins, replacing the '2000' date mark with '2002' on the reverse side while maintaining all other technical characteristics defined in the June 2000 decision. These coins are legal tender and entered circulation on May 15, 2002, through the Bank's main units and branches based on inventory and issuance plans. The decision became effective on May 8, 2002, and was published in the official gazettes of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Republika Srpska.

Based on Article 2, paragraph 3, point h., and Article 7, point e. of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", No. 1/97), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 10th session held on May 8, 2002, adopts

D E C I S I O N

on the issuance, basic characteristics, and circulation of additional quantities of coinage in the denomination of 1 KM

  1. The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina (hereinafter: the Central Bank) has minted additional quantities of coinage in the denomination of 1 KM, as legal tender in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

  2. The coinage referred to in point 1 of this Decision has basic characteristics and technical specifications entirely determined by the Decision on Issuance, Basic Characteristics, and Circulation of Coinage in the denominations of 1 and 2 Convertible Marks, UV No. 12/00 dated June 23 and 28, 2000 ("Official Gazette of BiH", 20/00), with the exception that the numerical marking "2000" on the reverse side of the 1 KM denomination has been replaced by the numerical marking "2002" (point 5, sub-point 1 of the cited Decision).

  3. The coinage referred to in point 1 of this Decision shall be put into circulation starting from May 15, 2002, in accordance with the inventory of money stock and the money issuance plan, based on special decisions of the Governor, and through the main units and branches of the Central Bank.

  4. This Decision shall enter into force on the day of its adoption and shall be published in the "Official Gazette of BiH", "Official Gazette of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina", and "Official Gazette of Republika Srpska".
