The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina issues 2022-dated 2 and 5 Convertible Mark coins, adopting the design and basic characteristics of previous 1, 2, and 5 Convertible Mark and 5 Fening coin decisions. These coins are designated as legal tender throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina, requiring all public and private entities to accept them at nominal value in cash transactions. The Central Bank will release the coins into circulation successively through its central office, main units, and branches based on inventory and issuance plans. The decision enters into force on the eighth day following its publication in the Official Gazette of Bosnia and Herzegovina and other relevant official journals.
Based on Article 2, paragraph (3), item h., Article 7, item a), Articles 39 and 45 of the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina ("Official Gazette of BiH", nos. 1/97, 29/02, 13/03, 14/03, 09/05, 76/06 and 32/07), the Governing Board of the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at its 14th meeting held on 27.10.2022, adopts
DECISION on the issuance of 2 and 5 Convertible Mark coins
Article 1. (Introductory provisions) The Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina has minted 2 and 5 Convertible Mark coins (hereinafter: KM coins) of the 2022 issue.
Article 2. (Basic characteristics and design of KM coins) The KM coins referred to in Article 1 of this Decision have basic characteristics and design established in all respects by the following decisions:
Decision on the issuance, basic characteristics and putting into circulation of 1 and 2 Convertible Mark coins ("Official Gazette of BiH", no. 20/00),
Decision on the issuance, basic characteristics and putting into circulation of 5 Convertible Mark and 5 Fening coins ("Official Gazette of BiH", no. 92/05).
Article 3. (Year of issue of KM coins) The KM coins referred to in Article 1 of this Decision are minted with the year of issue "2022".
Article 4. (Legal tender) According to the Law on the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all public and private institutions and establishments, legal and natural persons are obliged to accept the KM coins from this Decision at their nominal value as legal tender when offered in cash transactions, i.e., in settlement and payment of any obligations towards them, throughout the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Article 5. (Putting KM coins into circulation) Upon entry into force of this Decision, the Central Bank of Bosnia and Herzegovina will, through the Central Office, main units and branches, put the KM coins from this Decision into circulation successively, in accordance with the inventory of KM coin stocks and the plan for issuing KM coins into circulation.
Article 6. (Entry into force) This Decision enters into force on the eighth day from the date of publication in the "Official Gazette of BiH", and shall also be published in the "Official Gazette of the Federation of BiH", the "Official Gazette of the Republika Srpska" and the "Official Gazette of the Brčko District of BiH".
