DFIM Circular Letter No. 02: Finance companies will remain closed for the 13th national parliamentary election and referendum, 2026
All finance companies operating in Bangladesh are ordered to remain closed on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, and Thursday, 12 February 2026, as public holidays declared for the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum. This directive is issued under the authority of Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023, following the Ministry of Public Administration's Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.175.08.0003.26-16 dated 25 January 2026.

Regarding the declaration of public holidays on 11 and 12 February 2026 by executive order on the occasion of the 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum.
Through Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.000.175.08.0003.26-16 dated 25 January 2026 of the Ministry of Public Administration, public holidays have been declared by executive order on the occasion of the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election and Referendum. Consequently, all finance companies operating in Bangladesh will remain closed on Wednesday and Thursday, 11 and 12 February 2026.
This directive is issued under the powers conferred by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.
