DFIM Circular Letter No. 03: Announcement of Holiday on 11 September 2016 and Working Day on 24 September 2016

All non-bank financial institutions operating in Bangladesh are required to remain closed on Sunday, 11 September 2016, as a government holiday. Consequently, Saturday, 24 September 2016, is designated as a working day for these institutions to compensate for the closure. This directive follows an official government notification regarding the holiday schedule.

DFIM Circular Letter No. 03 Date: 24 Bhadra 1423 08 September 2016

To, Chief Executive / Managing Directors All Non-Bank Financial Institutions operating in Bangladesh.

Dear Sir,

Subject: Announcement of Holiday on 11 September 2016 (Sunday) and Working Day on 24 September 2016 (Saturday).

Reference is made to the letter No. 05.00.0000.173.08.014.07-220 dated 05/09/2016 from the General Administration Division of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, regarding the interpretation of Section 25 of the General Clauses Act, 1881, and the exercise of delegated executive power by the Government. It has been announced that the upcoming Sunday, 11 September 2016, is a government holiday, and consequently, offices will remain open on Saturday, 24 September 2016, as a working day.

In light of the above, all Non-Bank Financial Institutions operating in Bangladesh shall remain closed on Sunday, 11 September 2016. Accordingly, the following day, Saturday, 24 September 2016, shall be considered a working day.
