DFIM Circular Letter No. 05: Limitation on Ex-Bangladesh travel of finance companies' officials and employees

Finance companies in Bangladesh are permitted to allow officials and employees to travel outside Bangladesh for official purposes, provided such travel is necessary and conducted in accordance with the institution's internal policies and with the approval of the competent authority. This permission is subject to any separate instructions previously issued by Bangladesh Bank regarding foreign travel. The directive is issued under the powers granted by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.

Dear Sir,

Regarding the limitation on the foreign travel of officials and employees of Finance Companies.

Reference is invited to DFIM Circular Letter No.-06 dated 29 May 2022 on the subject cited above.

  1. Through the said Circular Letter, instructions were issued to prohibit the foreign travel of officials and employees of Finance Companies for training/study tours/exposure visits/meetings/seminars.

  2. Now, in continuation of the said Circular Letter, the following instructions are issued: Officials and employees of Finance Companies may travel outside Bangladesh for necessary official purposes, in accordance with the policies of their respective institutions regarding foreign travel and with the approval of the competent authority. However, officials and employees of Finance Companies who are subject to separate instructions from Bangladesh Bank regarding foreign travel must comply with those instructions.

  3. These instructions are issued under the powers granted by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.
