DFIM Circular Letter No. 10: Regarding opening of all the Financial Institutions on 31 December, 2015

All scheduled banks and financial institutions are required to remain open on Thursday, 31 December 2015, to facilitate the annual accounting closing, despite the closure of branches in election-related areas on 30 December 2015 due to municipal elections. Consequently, Friday, 1 January 2016, is declared a bank holiday in lieu of the working day on 31 December 2015.

To, Chief Executive / Managing Directors All Financial Institutions operating in Bangladesh

Subject: Regarding opening of all Financial Institutions on 31 December 2015

Dear Sir,

This is to inform you that, in the context of the municipal elections, bank/financial institution branches in areas related to the elections will remain closed nationwide on 30 December 2015. However, to facilitate the annual accounting closing, all scheduled banks/financial institutions will remain open as usual on Thursday, 31 December 2015. In this regard, Friday, 1 January 2016, is declared as a bank holiday.
