DFIM Circular Letter No. 13: Holiday for Eid-ul-Azha

All financial institutions operating in Bangladesh are ordered to remain closed for four days, specifically June 27, 28, 29, and 30, 2023, in observance of Eid-ul-Azha. This closure is issued pursuant to Gazette Notifications No. 05.00.0000.173.08.006.23-104 dated June 20, 2023, and No. 05.00.0000.173.08.003.18-237 dated November 1, 2022, under the authority granted by Section 18(c) of the Financial Institutions Act, 1993.

Dear Sir,

Regarding the closure of financial institutions on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

Reference is invited to Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.006.23-104 dated 20/06/2023 and Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.003.18-237 dated 01/11/2022 of the Rules-4 Branch, Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, on the above-mentioned subject.

  1. In view of the declaration of a general holiday on Tuesday, June 27, 2023, through Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.006.23-104, all financial institutions operating in Bangladesh will remain closed for four days, namely Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, June 27, 28, 29, and 30, 2023, on the occasion of the holy Eid-ul-Azha.

  2. This order is issued under the powers conferred by Section 18(c) of the Financial Institutions Act, 1993.
