DFIM Circular Letter No. 17: Keeping Finance Company Branches Closed in Election Areas on 21 May 2024
Finance companies operating in Bangladesh are directed to keep all business centers, branches, and booths closed in the specified election areas on Tuesday, 21 May 2024, for the General Election of 157 Upazila Parishads. This directive is issued in accordance with the Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.020.24.59 dated 15 May 2024 from the Ministry of Public Administration and is issued under the authority granted by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Company Act, 2023.

To: Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer All Finance Companies Operating in Bangladesh.
Dear Sir,
Subject: Declaration of general holiday in the concerned election areas on Tuesday, 21 May 2024, on the occasion of the General Election of 157 Upazila Parishads.
In accordance with Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.020.24.59 dated 15 May 2024 of the Ministry of Public Administration (copy attached), all business centers, branches, and booths of finance companies located in the concerned election areas will remain closed on Tuesday, 21 May 2024, on the occasion of the General Election of 157 Upazila Parishads.
- This directive is issued under the powers conferred by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Company Act, 2023.
