DFIM Circular Letter No. 23: Keeping Finance Company Branches Closed in Election Areas on 26th June 2024 for the General Election/By-Election of 02 Municipalities
Finance companies operating in Bangladesh must keep all business centers, branches, and booths closed in the specific election areas of Kanchan Municipality (Narayanganj District) and Gournadi Municipality (Barishal District) on 26 June 2024. This closure is mandated for the general election of Kanchan Municipality and the by-election for the vacant mayor position of Gournadi Municipality, in accordance with a gazette notification from the Ministry of Public Administration dated 19 June 2024. The directive is issued under the authority granted by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Company Act, 2023.

Dear Sir,
Regarding the declaration of general holidays in the concerned election areas on 26 June 2024 on the occasion of the General/By-Election of 02 Municipalities.
In accordance with Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.021.24.78 dated 19 June 2024 of the Ministry of Public Administration, all business centers, branches, and booths of finance companies located in the concerned election areas will remain closed on 26 June 2024 on the occasion of the election of 02 Municipalities (the General Election of Kanchan Municipality of Narayanganj District and the By-Election for the vacant position of Mayor of Gournadi Municipality of Barishal District).
