Finance companies operating in Bangladesh are directed to install the required number of CCTV cameras at entrances, interiors, exteriors, and all areas involving cash. These companies must ensure the installed cameras are under 24-hour monitoring, establish procedures to provide video footage to nearby police stations upon request, and retain video footage for a minimum of one year. This directive is issued under the powers granted by Section 41(2)(g) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.

Regarding the adoption of precautionary measures to ensure the safety of Finance Company buildings.
Reference is drawn to your attention DFIM Circular No.-03, dated: 14 May 2013 and DFIM Circular Letter No.-11, dated: 20 June 2023.
Necessary measures have been directed to be taken to strengthen the structural safety measures of Finance Company buildings through the aforementioned circular and circular letter.
Now, in order to ensure greater safety of Finance Company buildings and assets, you are hereby directed to take the following measures:
(a) Install the required number of CCTV cameras at the entrances, interiors, exteriors, and all areas involving cash of Finance Company buildings (Head Office, branches, business centers, booths, owned/rented buildings, etc.).
(b) Take necessary measures to bring the installed/being installed CCTV cameras under 24-hour monitoring.
(c) Take necessary measures to establish procedures to provide video footage recorded by CCTV cameras to nearby police stations upon request.
(d) Retain video footage recorded by CCTV cameras for a minimum of one year.
