DFIM Circular Letter No. 25: Cancellation of general holiday on August 15
Finance companies operating in Bangladesh are instructed to remain open and conduct business as usual on August 15, following the cancellation of the previously declared general holiday for that date by the Ministry of Public Administration. This directive is issued under the authority granted by Section 41(2)(g) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.

With reference to the above subject, your attention is invited to Memorandum No. 05.00.0000.173.08.013.23-117 dated August 13, 2024, from Rule-4 Branch, Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh.

In light of the cancellation of the general holiday on August 15, declared as a National Day of Mourning pursuant to the aforementioned gazette notification (copy attached), all finance companies operating in Bangladesh are hereby directed to keep their offices open and conduct business as usual on August 15.

This directive is issued under the powers conferred by Section 41(2)(g) of the Finance Companies Act, 2023.
