DFIM Circular Letter No. 8: Finance companies will remain closed for the national parliamentary election

Finance companies operating in Bangladesh are directed to close all business centers, branches, and booths in specific electoral constituencies on Thursday, April 9, 2026, due to elections for two National Parliament seats. This directive is issued under Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Company Act, 2023, in accordance with a memorandum from the Ministry of Public Administration dated April 1, 2026. The closure applies specifically to areas associated with the vacant seats of Bogura-6 and Sherpur-3.

Dear Sir,

With reference to the general holiday declared in the concerned electoral areas on Thursday, April 9, 2026, on the occasion of elections for two seats of the National Parliament.

In accordance with Memorandum No. 05.00.0000.000.173.08.002.21.30 dated April 1, 2026, from the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, all business centers, branches, and booths of Finance Companies located in the concerned electoral areas will remain closed on Thursday, April 9, 2026, on the occasion of elections for the vacant seats of Bogura-6 and Sherpur-3 of the National Parliament.

  1. This directive is issued under the authority granted by Section 41(2)(d) of the Finance Company Act, 2023.
