DID Circular Letter No. 01: Regarding sending information of Customer Deposit Composition as per amended slabs
The Deposit Insurance Department requires all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to submit Customer Deposit Composition data using revised slabs, effective immediately following the increase in the insured deposit limit from BDT 100,000 to BDT 200,000 under the Deposit Insurance Act, 2023. Banks must report depositor numbers and respective amounts across five specific tiers: BDT 1-200,000, 200,001-300,000, 300,001-400,000, 400,001-500,000, and BDT 500,001 and above. All other directives from the previous circular dated February 1, 2024, remain unchanged.

Dear Sir,
Context regarding the submission of information on Customer Deposit Composition in the information for determining Deposit Insurance Premium according to amended slabs.
Reference is drawn to your attention to DID Circular No. 01/2024 dated 01 February, 2024 of this department on the subject mentioned above.
Recently, under the issued Deposit Insurance Act, 2023, the limit for insured deposits has been increased from 01 (one) lakh Taka to 02 (two) lakh Taka. In this context, the information on Customer Deposit Composition mentioned in Annexure-A in the information related to the determination of Deposit Insurance Premium must now be submitted to this department by following the steps below:
