DID Circular Letter No. 02: Regarding Submission of Detail Information for Assessing Deposit Insurance Premium

Dear Sir,

Reference is invited to this Department's DID Circular No. 04/2013 dated 15 July 2013 and DID Circular Letter No. 01/2020 dated 23 December 2020.

In accordance with the aforementioned circular and circular letter, all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh have been instructed to submit the necessary information regarding the determination of their deposit insurance premiums to this Department in the prescribed format on a quarterly basis for the purpose of calculating deposit insurance premiums. However, it has recently been observed that some banks are providing incorrect information or submitting reports incorrectly on a quarterly basis, which is not desirable.

In the interest of determining the deposit insurance premium correctly, you are hereby instructed to submit detailed information of the bank and institution under the headings "General Information", "Balance Sheet Information", "Profit and Loss Account Information", and "Other Information" when submitting the deposit insurance premium determination report from the upcoming quarter, i.e., by 31 December 2021. The information required in this regard must be provided after verifying it from the respective books of accounts.
