Subject: Regarding Policy Amendments in National Savings Schemes.

Reference is drawn to your attention to the Gazette Notification No. 08.00.0000.041.22.007.20.35 dated 03 November, 2024, issued by the Department of Internal Resources, Ministry of Finance, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. This department is forwarding the same for your information and necessary action.

2. In continuation of the aforementioned notification, the Gazette Notification No. 08.00.0000.041.22.004.20.159 dated 22 December, 2024, issued by the Department of Internal Resources, Ministry of Finance, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, is enclosed herewith for your information and necessary action.

Gazette Notification

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the 'Sanchayapatra Rules, 1977' or any other law, rule, policy, etc., currently in force regarding 'Institutional Investment or Reinvestment in Sanchayapatra' under the 'National Savings Scheme', reinvestment facility shall not be available for institutional investment in Sanchayapatra under the said 'Sanchayapatra Rules, 1977'.

2. Bangladeshi nationals working in international organizations, or Bangladeshi pilots and cabin crew working in airlines, if they have a Foreign Currency (FC) account in any scheduled bank's authorized dealer branch in Bangladesh, shall be eligible to invest in 'Wage Earners Development Bonds' using the foreign currency received through remittances. The facility to invest in 'Wage Earners Development Bonds' shall be available from the FC account held by them.

3. The portion mentioned in serial number 03 of the Gazette Notification issued on 03 November 2024 is hereby replaced by this notification.

4. This order is issued in the public interest and shall come into force immediately.
