This is to inform you that the notification No. 08.00.0000.041.22.006.20.1 dated 06 January, 2025, issued by the Internal Resources Division of the Ministry of Finance, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, concerning the amendment to the Family Savings Policy, 2009, is enclosed herewith for your information and necessary action.

Notification

Notwithstanding anything contained in Rule-3 of the Family Savings Policy, 2009 regarding 'Eligibility for Purchase of Savings Certificate', the Government hereby withdraws the existing condition of '65 years and above age' for the purchase of 'Family Savings Certificate' in the name of the male members of the families of martyrs from the July Mass Uprising, who are to be provided 'Family Savings Certificate' as government assistance.

2. Simultaneously, notwithstanding anything contained in Section-264 of the Income Tax Act, 2023 regarding the 'compulsion to submit proof of filing income tax return' for the purchase of savings certificate, the Government hereby withdraws the existing condition of compulsion to submit proof of filing return for the purchase of savings certificate for the said amount of money for the members of the families of martyrs from the July Mass Uprising, who are to be provided 'Family Savings Certificate' for the amount of money as government assistance.

3. This order, issued in the public interest, shall come into force immediately.
