DMD Circular Letter No. 02: Regarding Purchase of Wage Earner Development Bond, U.S. Dollar Investment Bond & U.S. Dollar Premium Bond
The Department of Management Development of the Central Bank of Bangladesh directs all scheduled banks and Central Bank officials to continue providing reinvestment facilities for Wage Earner Development Bonds, U.S. Dollar Investment Bonds, and U.S. Dollar Premium Bonds. This directive addresses complaints that some banks were refusing to offer these reinvestment options to investors. The instruction mandates compliance with the relevant provisions of the existing Bond Rules to eliminate confusion and ensure the continuity of these services.

Regarding Reinvestment in Wage Earner Development Bond, U.S. Dollar Investment Bond and U.S. Dollar Premium Bond.
It has recently been reported that some banks are showing reluctance to provide reinvestment facilities to investors in Wage Earner Development Bonds, U.S. Dollar Investment Bonds, and U.S. Dollar Premium Bonds.
In this regard, to dispel any confusion, you are hereby instructed to continue providing reinvestment facilities in accordance with the relevant provisions of the existing Bond Rules.
