DMD Circular Letter No. 14: Regarding introduction of 90 and 180 days Bangladesh Bank Bill

The document introduces 90-day and 180-day maturity Bangladesh Bank Bills alongside the existing 7, 14, and 30-day instruments to enhance monetary policy implementation and liquidity management. Dear Sir,

Regarding the introduction of 90 and 180 days maturity Bangladesh Bank Bills.

To make monetary policy implementation and liquidity management more effective, Bangladesh Bank has decided to introduce 90-day and 180-day maturity Bangladesh Bank Bills alongside the currently circulating 7, 14, and 30-day maturity Bangladesh Bank Bills. The guidelines regarding the rules and procedures for the issuance of Bangladesh Bank Bills, issued through the letter number FRTEM(PDS)154/2006-1669 dated 21/09/2006 concerning the auction of Bangladesh Bank Bills, will also be applicable to the 90-day and 180-day maturity Bangladesh Bank Bills.

These instructions will take effect immediately.
