The Department of Offsite Supervision of Bangladesh Bank instructs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to close any branches or sub-branches located in buildings designated as polling stations for the National Parliament by-election for the 33 Gaibandha-5 vacant seat on January 4, 2023. Banks are further required to facilitate voting rights for their employees who are voters within the relevant election area.

Regarding the need to take necessary measures to facilitate the casting of vote by voters who are employees of the banks in the concerned election area on 04 January 2023 for the election to the vacant seat of 33 Gaibandha-5 of the National Parliament, and to keep bank branches/sub-branches located in buildings used as polling stations in the concerned election area closed.

In accordance with the notification number-05.00.0000.173.08.002.21-02 dated 02 January 2023 of the Ministry of Public Administration, it is advised that if any branch/sub-branch of the bank is located in any establishment designated or used as a polling station for the election to the vacant seat of 33 Gaibandha-5 of the National Parliament on the voting day, 04 January 2023, such branch/sub-branch should be kept closed. Furthermore, necessary measures should be taken to facilitate the casting of vote by voters who are employees of your bank in the concerned election area.
