DOS Circular Letter No. 01: Instruction to take necessary measures to facilitate casting of vote by the voter employees of the related areas on 5th January 2022 for election of Union Parishads

The Department of Off-site Supervision of the Bangladesh Bank instructs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to close any branches or sub-branches located in premises designated as polling stations for the Union Parishad elections on 5 January 2022. Banks are further directed to take necessary measures to facilitate voting rights for voters employed at their branches within the relevant electoral areas.

Regarding the closure of bank branches/sub-branches used as polling stations for the election of 707 Union Parishads on 5 January 2022 and taking necessary measures to facilitate the voting rights of voters in the relevant electoral areas.

Dear Sir,

In reference to the notification number-05.00.0000.173.08.002.18-01 dated 02 January 2022 of the Ministry of Public Administration (notification attached), regarding the election of 707 Union Parishads, advice is given to close any bank branch/sub-branch located in any premises designated as polling stations or for electoral activities on 05 January 2022, and to take necessary measures to facilitate the voting rights of voters employed at your bank's branches/sub-branches within the relevant electoral areas.
