Scheduled banks are required to keep all branches and regional offices closed on 01 February 2023 in specific election areas due to the election for certain vacant National Parliament constituencies. The affected constituencies include Thakurgaon-3, Bogura-4, Bogura-6, Chapainawabganj-2, Chapainawabganj-3, and Brahmanbaria-2, with specific sub-districts and unions excluded from the closure requirement in Thakurgaon-3. This directive follows a gazette notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration on 29 January 2023.

Regarding the general holiday declared in the concerned election areas on the occasion of the election for some vacant seats of the National Parliament.
Dear Sir,
In accordance with Gazette Notification No.-05.00.0000.173.08.002.21-16 dated 29 January 2023 of the Ministry of Public Administration, all branches/sub-branches of scheduled banks located in the concerned election areas, including regional offices, shall remain closed on 01 February 2023 on the occasion of the election for the following vacant seats of the National Parliament: [5 Thakurgaon-3 {Pirganj Upazila and Ranishankail Upazila, excluding Dhargad and Kashipur Unions}, 39 Bogura-4 (Kahaloo and Nandigram Upazila), 41 Bogura-6 (Bogura Sadar Upazila), 44 Chapainawabganj-2 (Vholahat, Gomastapur and Nachol Upazila), 45 Chapainawabganj-3 (Chapainawabganj Sadar), 244 Brahmanbaria-2 (Sarail and Ashuganj Upazila)].
