Dear Sir,
Subject: Scheduled banks to remain open on 25 January, 2014 (Saturday) for Upazila Parishad General Elections.
It is informed with reference to the letter No. 17.00.0000.079.40.003.14.18 dated 22 January, 2014 from the Election Commission Secretariat on the above-mentioned subject (copy enclosed), that in order to ensure security and convenience for the acceptance of candidate deposits via treasury challans, bank drafts, pay orders, or postal orders for the general elections of 102 upazilas in 40 districts (listed in the notification attached with the letter) in the first phase, the Election Commission has directed that all branches of scheduled banks located in the electoral areas remain open on the upcoming 25 January, 2014 (Saturday).
