DOS Circular Letter No. 04: Scheduled Bank branches will remain open on 25 January, 2014 (Saturday)
Scheduled banks are directed to keep all branches open on Saturday, 25 January 2014, in 102 upazilas across 40 districts to facilitate the collection of candidate deposits for the first phase of Upazila Parishad general elections. This directive follows a letter from the Election Commission Secretariat dated 22 January 2014, which requires banks in these electoral areas to accept treasury challans, bank drafts, pay orders, or postal orders for candidate deposits. The instruction is issued to ensure security and convenience for election-related financial transactions during the polling period.

Dear Sir,
Subject: Scheduled banks to remain open on 25 January, 2014 (Saturday) for Upazila Parishad General Elections.
It is informed with reference to the letter No. 17.00.0000.079.40.003.14.18 dated 22 January, 2014 from the Election Commission Secretariat on the above-mentioned subject (copy enclosed), that in order to ensure security and convenience for the acceptance of candidate deposits via treasury challans, bank drafts, pay orders, or postal orders for the general elections of 102 upazilas in 40 districts (listed in the notification attached with the letter) in the first phase, the Election Commission has directed that all branches of scheduled banks located in the electoral areas remain open on the upcoming 25 January, 2014 (Saturday).
