DOS Circular Letter No. 05: Regarding Keeping Scheduled Bank Branches in Election Areas Closed for the Election of 10 Municipalities
Scheduled banks are required to close all branches located in the election areas of ten specified municipalities on Sunday, March 20, 2016, to facilitate voting and general holiday observances. The affected municipalities are Haragach, Kaliganj, Jhalokathi, Bhanga, Nangalkot, Brahmanbaria, Kabirhat, Sonagazi, Maheshkhali, and Chakaria. This directive is issued in response to a memorandum from the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives.

Dear Sir,
With reference to the memorandum No. 05.00.0000.173.08.001.12-79 dated 16/03/2016 from the Legal-4 Branch, Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, regarding the closure of scheduled banks on Sunday, March 20, 2016, for the occasion of voting in the elections of 10 (ten) municipalities, it is informed that a general holiday has been declared on Sunday, March 20, 2016, in the concerned election areas for the general elections of the following 10 (ten) municipalities.
