DOS Circular Letter No. 06: Keeping scheduled bank branches closed in the election area on 9th March, 2024 Saturday for the occasion of General/By-Election of Mymensingh and Cumilla city corporation, 06 municipals and 32 Union Parishads.

Scheduled banks are required to keep all branches and regional offices closed on Saturday, 9 March 2024, in specific election areas to facilitate the General and By-Elections for the Mymensingh and Cumilla City Corporations, six municipal councils, and thirty-two Union Parishads. This closure applies to the jurisdictions listed in the attached notification issued by the Ministry of Public Administration.

Regarding the declaration of general holiday on Saturday, 09 March 2024, in the concerned election areas for the occasion of General/By-Election of Mymensingh and Cumilla City Corporations, 06 Municipalities, and 32 Union Parishads.

Dear Sir,

In accordance with Gazette Notification Number-05.00.0000.173.08.002.21-23 and 24 dated 03 March 2024 of the Ministry of Public Administration, all branches/sub-branches of scheduled banks located in the concerned election areas, including regional offices, shall remain closed on Saturday, 09 March 2024, for the following elections:

  1. General Election of Mymensingh City Corporation.
  2. By-Election for the vacant post of Mayor of Cumilla City Corporation.
  3. General Election of 03 Municipalities (Patuakhali Municipality of Patuakhali District, Bakshiganj Municipality of Jamalpur District, and Amtali Municipality of Barguna District).
  4. By-Election for the vacant post of Mayor of 03 Municipalities (Trishal Municipality of Mymensingh District, Munshiganj Municipality of Munshiganj District, and Shibganj Municipality of Bogura District).
  5. General Election of 13 Union Parishads.
  6. By-Election for the vacant post of 19 Union Parishads.
