Dear Sir,

Regarding the declaration of closure of scheduled bank branches in the relevant election areas on the day of voting for the 4th phase of the Union Council General Election-2016.

With reference to the Memorandum No. 05.00.0000.173.08.004.11-107 dated 17/04/2016 of the Rule-4 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, it is informed that on the day of voting for the election of 743 Union Parishads in the 4th phase of the Union Council General Election-2016 declared by the Election Commission, a general holiday has been declared in the relevant election areas for all employees/officials working in all government, semi-government, autonomous, and private offices/institutions/organizations, and for teachers/officials/officials of government and private educational institutions, to enable them to exercise their voting rights and to facilitate the voting process.

In this regard, all branches of scheduled banks located in the relevant election areas will remain closed on the voting day, i.e., 07 May 2016, to enable bank officials/employees to exercise their voting rights and to facilitate the voting process.
