DOS Circular Letter No. 08: Scheduled bank branches will remain open on 05 June 2025, 11 June 2025 & 12 June 2025 in Limited Scale
Scheduled banks are directed to operate branches on a limited scale on 05 June 2025, and on 11 and 12 June 2025, which are government holidays. On 05 June, branches in Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaulka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong will handle transactions for the garment industry, including export bill sales and employee payments, from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM for office hours and 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM for transaction hours. On 11 and 12 June, authorized dealer branches in Dhaka, Chittagong, and other major commercial areas may remain open at their discretion to facilitate critical import and export transactions, following the same office and transaction hours. Staff performing duties on these holidays are entitled to allowances as per regulations.

Dear Sir,
In view of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha, to facilitate the sale of export bills by various establishments in the ready-made garment industry prior to the holiday, and to provide convenience for the payment of salaries, bonuses, and other allowances to workers/employees/clerks working in the said industry, scheduled commercial bank branches in the areas of Dhaka Metropolitan, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaulka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong, where garment industry transactions take place, will operate banking activities on a limited scale with a limited number of staff on Thursday, 05 June 2025, a government holiday, according to the following schedule, ensuring security:

To facilitate critical and local transactions of import and export-oriented industrial establishments/clients, including the pharmaceutical industry, authorized dealer (AD) branches in Dhaka, Chittagong, and other important commercial areas will remain open on a limited scale on Wednesday, 11 June 2025, and Thursday, 12 June 2025, which are government holidays, at their own discretion, according to the following schedule:

Staff/clerks performing duties on holidays will be entitled to allowances as per rules.
This directive is issued in the public interest under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
