The Department of Off-site Supervision instructs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to close branches located in specific polling stations or designated election areas during the Pourashava (municipal) elections on March 31, 2021. This directive applies to polling stations in Sujannagar (Pabna), Jessore (Jessore), Dewanganj (Jamalpur), and Kalakini (Madaripur), as well as branches in adjacent Pourashavas, upazilas, or districts where voters reside. Banks are required to facilitate the exercise of voting rights for voters in these areas by ensuring branch closures at polling sites and providing necessary accommodations for voters in nearby branches.

Regarding the need to take necessary measures to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters in the relevant electoral areas on the occasion of the general election of Pourashavas.
Dear Sir,
In light of the notification number 05.00.0000.173.08.002.21-70 dated 25 March, 2021, issued by the Law Division of the Ministry of Local Government, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, it is advised to close any bank branch located in establishments that are used as polling stations or designated for election activities during the general election of Pourashavas in Sujannagar of Pabna District, Jessore of Jessore District, Dewanganj of Jamalpur District, and Kalakini of Madaripur District, to be held on Wednesday, 31 March, 2021. Furthermore, measures should be taken to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters working in your bank branches in the relevant electoral areas and adjacent Pourashavas/upazilas/districts.
