DOS Circular Letter No. 09: Keeping scheduled bank branches of election area close on 25th of May 2016 for the occasion of announced 09 Municipals Election

Scheduled banks must close all branches in specified election areas on Wednesday, 25 May 2016, to facilitate voting in nine municipal elections. The affected areas include Narshingdi (Palash Ghodashal), Rajshahi (Rajshahi), Chittagong (Lakshmipur Sadar), Brahmanbaria (Kasba), Noakhali (Noakhali Sadar), Senbag, Feni (Chagonai), Cox's Bazar (Teknaf), and Khagrachhari (Ramgarh).

Dear Sir,

In the context of closing scheduled banks for the election of 09 Municipalities as per the schedule announced by the Election Commission, and in light of the letter No. 05.00.0000.173.08.001.12-128 dated 19/05/2016 from the Legal-4 Branch of the Ministry of Public Administration, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, it is hereby directed that all branches of scheduled banks located in the election areas listed below shall remain closed on Wednesday, 25 May 2016, to allow employees to exercise their voting rights and facilitate voting.
