DOS Circular Letter No. 11: Keeping scheduled bank branches of garments industry area open on 13 June, 2018 Wednesday for the payment of garment workers' wages, bonus and other allowances before Eid-ul-Fitr

The Department of Off-Site Supervision directs scheduled banks to keep branches in Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhuluka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong open on Wednesday, 13 June 2018, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM. This extension is authorized to facilitate the payment of wages, bonuses, and allowances to garment workers and clerks prior to Eid-ul-Fitr, contingent upon the assurance of adequate security measures.

Dear Sir,

In the context of keeping the relevant branches of scheduled banks open in advance on 13 June, 2018 (a government holiday on the occasion of Shab-e-Qadr) to facilitate the payment of wages, bonuses, and other allowances to workers/clerks employed in the ready-made garments industry, instructions are hereby given to take necessary measures to reopen the relevant branches of scheduled banks located in Dhaka Metropolitan City, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhuluka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong on Wednesday, 13 June, 2018, from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM, after ensuring adequate security, for the benefit of paying wages, bonuses, and other allowances to workers/clerks employed in the ready-made garments industry prior to the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr and for the continuity of export trade.
