The Department of Off-Site Supervision advises scheduled banks to open only those branches specifically associated with the ready-made garment industry in Dhaka, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj, and Chittagong on Saturday, July 11, 2015, to facilitate the payment of wages, bonuses, and other allowances to workers and employees. Banks are also advised to provide reasonable allowances to staff who report for duty on this public holiday.

Reference is made to the DOS Circular Letter No. 18 dated 07/12/2006, under which commercial bank branches located at airports, sea/river ports, and land ports are instructed to remain open on Fridays and Saturdays at their discretion, and commercial bank branches located elsewhere in the country are instructed to remain open on Saturdays at their discretion.
Now, at the request of BGMEA, it is advised that, prior to the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr, to facilitate the payment of wages, bonuses, and other allowances to workers/employees working in the ready-made garment industry, only those scheduled bank branches specifically associated with the ready-made garment industry located in the garment industrial areas of Dhaka Metropolitan City, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Narayanganj, and Chittagong may remain open on Saturday, 11 July 2015, after ensuring necessary security.
It is also advised that you provide reasonable allowances to workers/employees who report for duty on Saturday, 11 July 2015, as it is a public holiday.
