DOS Circular Letter No. 14: Keeping scheduled bank branches closed in the Election areas on 25th May 2023 Thursday for Election of Gazipur City Corporation and By-Election of 3 Upazila Parishad & 7 Union Parishad
Scheduled banks are required to close all branches and regional offices located within the specified election areas on Thursday, 25 May 2023. This closure applies to areas affected by the Gazipur City Corporation election and the by-elections for three Upazila Parishads and seven Union Parishads, in accordance with two notifications issued by the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives on 21 May 2023.

Subject: Context of keeping scheduled bank branches/sub-branches closed in the concerned election areas on 25 May 2023, the day of voting, on the occasion of the election of Gazipur City Corporation and by-elections for vacant seats of 3 Upazila Parishads and 7 Union Parishads.
Dear Sir,
In accordance with two notifications numbered 05.00.0000.173.08.002.21-85 and 05.00.0000.173.08.002.18-86 dated 21 May 2023 of the Ministry of Local Government, all branches/sub-branches of scheduled banks located in the concerned election areas, along with their regional offices, shall remain closed on 25 May 2023 on the occasion of the election of Gazipur City Corporation and by-elections for vacant seats of 3 Upazila Parishads and 7 Union Parishads (list attached).
