DOS Circular Letter No. 16: Conducting Banking Service from 22 April 2021 to 28 April 2021

The Department of Off-Site Supervision of Bangladesh Bank extends the validity period of the limited banking operations directive issued in DOS Circular Letter No. 15. The authorized timeframe for conducting banking services under restricted conditions is extended from 21 April 2021 to 28 April 2021. This extension applies to all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh and is issued under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.

Regarding the conduct of banking operations amidst the restrictions imposed by the government to prevent the spread of Coronavirus.

Dear Sir,

In order to prevent the spread of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), Bangladesh Bank issued instructions via DOS Circular Letter No. 15 dated 13 April 2021, directing the conduct of banking operations on a limited basis from 14 April 2021 to 21 April 2021.

In light of the Memorandum No. 04.00.0000.514.16.003.20.126 dated 20 April 2021 from the Cabinet Division, the time limit for all instructions provided in DOS Circular Letter No. 15, issued by Bangladesh Bank on 13 April 2021, to continue banking operations, has been extended from 21 April 2021 to 28 April 2021.

These instructions are issued under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
