DOS Circular Letter No. 16: Keeping scheduled bank branches of garments industry area open on 23 and 24 June, 2017 for the payment of garment workers' wages, bonus and other allowances before Eid-ul-Fitr
The Department of Off-Site Supervision directs scheduled banks to keep only their branches located in designated garment industry areas open on Friday, 23 June 2017 (9:30 AM to 12:00 PM) and Saturday, 24 June 2017 (9:30 AM to 4:00 PM) to facilitate the payment of wages, bonuses, and allowances to garment workers and clerks before Eid-ul-Fitr. This directive applies to branches in Dhaka metropolitan area, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhuluka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong, contingent upon the assurance of adequate security. Banks are also reminded to comply with the instructions issued in DOS Circular Letter No. 27 dated 19 December 2013.

Dear Sir,
In the context of keeping the relevant branches of scheduled banks open on 23 and 24 June, 2017 (Friday and Saturday) in advance to facilitate the payment of wages, bonuses, and other allowances to workers/clerks employed in the ready-made garments (RMG) industry, it has been decided to keep only the RMG-related branches of scheduled banks located in the garment industry areas of Dhaka metropolitan area, Ashulia, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhuluka, Narayanganj, and Chittagong open on Friday, 23 June, 2017 (from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM) and on Saturday, 24 June, 2017 (from 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM), subject to ensuring adequate security. Accordingly, instructions are given to take necessary arrangements regarding this matter. In this regard, your attention is also drawn to ensure compliance with the instructions issued in DOS Circular Letter No.-27 dated 19 December, 2013.
