DOS Circular Letter No. 17: Change in Bank office and transaction hours
The Department of Offshore Supervision mandates that all scheduled banks in Bangladesh operate their offices from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and conduct transactions from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM from June 19, 2024, until further notice. Saturdays and Fridays are designated as weekly holidays. This directive supersedes previous schedules and is issued under Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, while maintaining existing instructions for branches located in sea, land, and air ports.

Dear Sir,
Following the implementation of the government's declared office hours, the following schedule for banking operations will be in effect from June 19, 2024, until further instructions are issued:

The instructions contained in DOS Circular Letter No. 24 issued on August 05, 2019, regarding the maintenance of branches/sub-branches/booths of banks located in sea/land/air port areas in operation during morning hours shall remain in force.
These instructions are issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
