DOS Circular Letter No. 17: Notification for Relaxation of Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) of Padma Bank Limited

The Bangladesh Bank relaxes the Statutory Liquidity Ratio (SLR) for Padma Bank Limited, setting the minimum requirement for easily realizable assets within Bangladesh at 3.25% from 2022 to 2024, 6.50% in 2025, and 9.75% in 2026. Notification

In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 121 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991 (1991 Act No. 14), and after consultation with the Government, the Bangladesh Bank, through Notification No. DOS(SR)/1153/120-A/2020-2166 dated 29 Srabon 1427 (13 August 2020), had determined the minimum level of easily realizable assets within Bangladesh, including excess cash balance with the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR), for Padma Bank Limited under Section 33 of the said Act to be not less than 9.75 (nine point seven five) percent of its total demand and time liabilities in 2022, and not less than 13 (thirteen) percent in 2023.

In continuation of the above, and in exercise of the powers conferred by Section 121 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, and after consultation with the Government, the Bangladesh Bank hereby re-determines the minimum level of easily realizable assets within Bangladesh, including excess cash balance with the Cash Reserve Ratio (CRR), for Padma Bank Limited under Section 33 of the said Act to be not less than 3.25 (three point two five) percent of its total demand and time liabilities from 2022 to 2024, not less than 6.50 (six point five) percent in 2025, and not less than 9.75 (nine point seven five) percent in 2026.

This order shall be deemed to have come into force from January 1, 2022.
