The Department of Offsite Supervision instructs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to keep branches involved in Hajj activities open on Saturday, 11 October 2025, during normal business hours and beyond standard closing times on 12 October 2025 to facilitate the deposit of Hajj funds. This directive, issued under Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, is in response to a memorandum from the Ministry of Religious Affairs dated 5 October 2025 regarding the registration of Hajj pilgrims for 2026. Banks are required to ensure necessary arrangements for receiving funds for as long as pilgrims remain to deposit their Hajj registration fees.

Regarding the acceptance of Hajj funds in connection with the Hajj program, scheduled bank branches related to Hajj activities are to remain open on Saturday, 11 October 2025, and continue accepting funds after banking hours until 12 October 2025.

In light of Memorandum No.-16.00.0000.003.18.006.19(Ang)-1100 dated 05 October 2025 from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, instructions are hereby issued to take necessary arrangements for the acceptance of funds for as long as pilgrims remain to deposit Hajj registration fees, so that branches of your bank involved in Hajj activities may remain open on Saturday, 11 October 2025, according to the normal schedule, and continue accepting funds after banking hours until 12 October 2025, to facilitate the deposit of Hajj registration funds.
This instruction is issued in the public interest under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
