DOS Circular Letter No. 18: Keeping scheduled bank branches closed in the election areas on 26th June, 2024 for the General Election/By-Election of 02 Municipals.
Scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh must keep all branches and sub-branches closed on 26 June 2024 in the specific electoral areas of Kanchan Municipality in Narayanganj District and Gournadi Municipality in Barishal District. This closure is mandated in accordance with Government of Bangladesh Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.021.24.78 dated 19 June 2024, which declares a general holiday for the general election of Kanchan Municipality and the by-election for the vacant Mayor position of Gournadi Municipality. Bank management is directed to take necessary measures to ensure compliance with this directive.

Regarding the declaration of general holiday on 26 June 2024 in the relevant electoral areas for the General/By-Election of 02 Municipalities.
Dear Sir,
In accordance with Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.021.24.78 dated 19 June 2024 of the Ministry of Public Administration, all branches/sub-branches of scheduled banks located in the relevant electoral areas shall remain closed on 26 June 2024 for the elections of 02 Municipalities (General Election of Kanchan Municipality in Narayanganj District and By-Election for the vacant position of Mayor of Gournadi Municipality in Barishal District), including their regional offices.
Instructions are hereby given to take necessary measures regarding this matter.
