DOS Circular Letter No. 21: All scheduled bank branches remain open on 27 December 2025
All scheduled bank branches in Bangladesh are directed to remain open on Saturday, 27 December 2025, to facilitate the deposit of security deposits and voter list CD purchase fees for candidates in the 13th National Parliament Election. This directive is issued in response to a letter from the Election Commission Secretariat dated 24 December 2025, allowing payments via bank drafts, pay orders, or treasury challans. The order is issued under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, for public interest.

Dear Sir,
In light of the letter number-17.00.0000.034.36. 017.25(Part-2)-433 dated 24 December 2025 from the Election Commission Secretariat, all branches of scheduled banks will remain open on Saturday, 27 December 2025, to facilitate the deposit of security deposits for candidates and the purchase of voter list CDs for the 13th National Parliament Election via bank drafts, pay orders, or treasury challans.
This order is issued in the interest of the public under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
