The Department of Offshore Supervision directs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to keep branches associated with Hajj activities open for the full day on Sunday, 25 June 2022, which is a weekly holiday. Banks must ensure adequate security and operate with a limited number of staff to facilitate smooth Hajj management, in accordance with a memorandum from the Ministry of Religious Affairs dated 22 June 2022. This directive is issued under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, in the public interest.

Dear Sir,
In light of the Memorandum No. 16.00.0000.003.18.006.19.934- dated 22 June 2022 from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, instructions are hereby given to take appropriate measures to keep the relevant branches/sub-branches of your bank associated with Hajj activities open for the full day on 25 June 2022, a weekly holiday, with a limited number of staff ensuring adequate security, for the sake of smooth Hajj management.
This directive is issued in the public interest under the powers granted by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.
