The Department of Offshore Supervision (DOS) directs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to remain closed on Thursday, 10 October 2024, in observance of the general holiday declared by the Government of Bangladesh for the Durgapuja festival. Banks located in sea, land, or air port areas (port and customs zones) must continue operations as per the instructions outlined in DOS Circular Letter No. 24 dated 05 August 2019.

Dear Sir,
Through Gazette Notification Number-05.00.0000.173.08.006.23-163 dated 08 October 2024 of the Ministry of Public Administration, the Government has declared a general holiday across the country on Thursday, 10 October 2024, on the occasion of the upcoming Sri Sri Durgapuja. In light of this announcement, all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh will remain closed on 10 October 2024. However, branches/sub-branches/booths of banks located in sea/land/air port areas (port and customs areas) shall remain open in accordance with the instructions issued in DOS Circular Letter No.-24 dated 05 August 2019 regarding keeping them open during holidays.
