DOS Circular Letter No. 25: Keeping Hajj activities related scheduled bank branches open on 02 July 2022

The Department of Offsite Supervision directs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to keep branches related to Hajj activities open on Sunday, 02 July 2022, which is a weekly holiday. This directive, issued under Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991, requires banks to operate with a limited number of staff while ensuring adequate security, in response to a memorandum from the Ministry of Religious Affairs dated 29 June 2022.

In light of Memorandum No.-16.00.0000.003.40.005.22.984 dated 29 June 2022 from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, instructions are hereby given to take appropriate measures to keep your bank's relevant branches/sub-branches open on 02 July 2022, a weekly holiday, with a limited number of staff, ensuring proper security for the sake of smooth Hajj management.

This instruction is issued in the public interest under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
