DOS Circular Letter No. 26: Regarding annual closing of scheduled banks
All scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh are required to close their annual accounts on Thursday, December 27, 2018, instead of the standard December 31 date. This adjustment is made in accordance with the approval of the competent authority due to the National Parliament Election 2018, which is scheduled for Friday, December 28, 2018. The regular bank holiday on December 31, 2018, remains unchanged.

Regarding the closure of annual accounts of all scheduled banks on Thursday, December 27, 2018
In light of the National Parliament Election 2018 to be held on Friday, 28 December 2018, with the approval of the competent authority, the closing of the current year's annual accounts for all scheduled banks is hereby fixed as Thursday, 27 December 2018.
The regular bank holiday on 31 December 2018 will remain unchanged.
