DOS Circular Letter No. 28 Date: 05 Srabon 1429 20 July 2022
Managing Directors and Chief Executive Officers All Scheduled Banks operating in Bangladesh.
Regarding submission of Statement regarding Large Loan (Form L).
Dear Sir,
Reference is invited to DOS Circular No. 01 dated 30 March 2022 on the subject cited above.
Through the aforementioned circular, scheduled banks were instructed to submit soft copies and hard copies of the monthly Large Loan Statement in accordance with the newly formulated Form L, along with the relevant minutes of the Board of Directors meetings and the hard copy of the Detailed Management Report (Annexure-1) attached to the Internal Credit Risk Rating System Guidelines, within the 10th of the following month after the end of the relevant month. Furthermore, instructions were provided that in the case of submitting nil returns, the tables for Loan Overview of the Bank, Sector-wise Loan and Large Loan Concentration, and Nonconforming Exposure in Form L must be filled out and submitted.
It is now directed that the deadline for submission of the Large Loan Statement (Form L) be extended from the 10th to the 15th of the following month after the end of each month.
In order to strengthen the credit risk management of banks, reduce credit concentration risk, and consolidate the Large Loan monitoring activities, it is directed that each scheduled bank establish a separate 'Large Loan Monitoring Unit' to prepare the Large Loan Statement (Form L) and send it to Bangladesh Bank.
This instruction is issued under the powers vested in Bangladesh Bank under Section 45 of the Bank Company Act, 1991.
Yours faithfully,
