DOS Circular Letter No. 29: Opening of Main Branches of Scheduled Banks on 29/11/2014 for Income Tax Payments
The Department of Off-Site Supervision directs all government and private scheduled banks to keep all their main branches at divisional and district levels open on Saturday, 29 November 2014, to facilitate income tax payments by taxpayers. The circular also recommends that banks provide reasonable allowances to staff who work on this day, which is normally a weekly holiday.

Dear Sir,
In the context of keeping all main branches of government and private scheduled banks at all divisional and district levels open on Saturday, 29 November 2014, for the convenience of taxpayers in paying income tax, adequate security measures have been ensured in advance. Therefore, all main branches of government and private scheduled banks at all divisional and district levels will remain open on Saturday, 29 November 2014, to facilitate the collection of income tax through challans and pay-orders by respected taxpayers.
- It is also advised to you to provide reasonable allowances to officers/employees who join office on 25 November 2014, as it is a weekly holiday, for their honorable service.
