The Department of Offsite Supervision of Bangladesh Bank instructs all scheduled banks to close any branches or sub-branches located within premises designated as polling stations for the National Parliament by-election in Gaibandha-5 on 12 October 2022. Banks are further required to take necessary measures to facilitate voting by their employees who are registered voters in the concerned election area.

In the context of the need to take necessary measures to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters who are employees of the bank, and to keep bank branches/sub-branches located in premises used as polling stations in the concerned election area closed on 12 October 2022, on the occasion of the election for the vacant seat of Gaibandha-5 (Constituency No. 33) of the National Parliament.

In accordance with Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.002.21-215 dated 04 October 2022 of the Ministry of Public Administration, it is advised that if any branch/sub-branch of the bank is located in any premises designated as a polling station or for election activities in the concerned election area for the voting day on 12 October 2022 for the election for the vacant seat of Gaibandha-5 (Constituency No. 33) of the National Parliament, such branch/sub-branch should be kept closed. Additionally, necessary measures should be taken at the bank's branches/sub-branches within the concerned election area to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by employees who are voters.
