DOS Circular Letter No. 33: Instruction to take necessary measures to facilitate casting of vote by the voter employees of the related areas on 2nd November 2022
The Department of Offshore Supervision instructs all scheduled banks operating in Bangladesh to close their branches or sub-branches located within specific electoral constituencies on November 2, 2022, if those premises are designated as polling stations for Upazila Parishad, Union Parishad, and four specific Pourashava elections. Banks must also ensure that employee voters residing in these affected electoral areas are granted the opportunity to exercise their voting rights. This directive implements a government notification dated October 30, 2022, regarding the closure of banking facilities at identified polling locations.

Regarding the need to take necessary measures to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters who are employees of the relevant areas, and to keep bank branches/sub-branches closed where they are located in places used as polling stations for the elections of Upazila Parishads, Union Parishads, and 4 Pourashavas on 02 November 2022.

In accordance with Notification Number-05.00.0000.173.08.002.21-231 dated 30 October 2022 of the Ministry of Public Administration, it is advised that if any branch/sub-branch of your bank is located in any establishment designated as a polling station or for election activities within the respective electoral constituencies for the elections of Upazila Parishads and Union Parishads (as per the attached list) and 04 Pourashavas (Fotikchari of Chittagong District, Hazrabari of Jamalpur District, Paratipur of Dinajpur District, and Biswanath of Sylhet District), you should keep such branch/sub-branch closed on the day of voting, 02 November 2022. Additionally, you are advised to take necessary measures to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voter employees working in your bank's branches/sub-branches within the respective electoral constituencies.
