To, Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer All Scheduled Banks operating in Bangladesh.

Subject: Regarding the need to take necessary measures to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters on 28 November 2021 for the election of Pourashavas and Union Parishads, by closing bank branches/sub-branches located in the relevant electoral areas used as polling stations.

Dear Sir,

Reference is made to Gazette Notification No. 05.00.0000.173.08.002.18-229 dated 22 November 2021 of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives (Notification attached), regarding the election of 9 Pourashavas and 1,000 Union Parishads to be held on 28 November 2021. It is advised that if any bank branch/sub-branch is located in any premises designated as a polling station or for election activities within the relevant electoral areas, such branch/sub-branch should be closed. Furthermore, necessary measures should be taken to facilitate the exercise of voting rights by voters working at the bank's branches/sub-branches within the relevant electoral areas.
