DOS Circular No. 19: Hajj activities related scheduled bank branches remain open on 18 October 2025
Scheduled banks in Bangladesh are directed to keep branches handling Hajj authorization collections open on Saturday, 18 October 2025, to facilitate the submission of Hajj registration authorizations for the 2026 Hajj. This directive, issued under Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991, requires banks to ensure security and maintain authorization collection services for as long as applicants are present. The order follows a memorandum from the Ministry of Religious Affairs dated 16 October 2025.

Dear Sir,
In light of the Memorandum No.-16.00.0000.003.18.006.19(Angsh)-1165 dated 16 October 2025 from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, instructions are hereby issued to keep your bank's relevant branches open on Saturday, 18 October 2025, after ensuring necessary security, to facilitate the submission of Hajj registration authorizations for the 2026 Hajj. Banks are directed to take necessary measures for authorization collection for as long as persons submitting Hajj registration authorizations are present.
This instruction is issued in the public interest under the powers conferred by Section 45 of the Bank Companies Act, 1991.
