Draft Regulation to Amend Regulation 31-103 Respecting Registration Requirements, Exemptions and Ongoing Registrant Obligations

The regulator has issued a draft regulation to amend Regulation 31-103 regarding registration requirements, exemptions, and ongoing registrant obligations. The proposed changes involve deleting the definition of the expression “Canadian financial institution” from Section 1.1 and removing subparagraph (iii) from Section 8.19. These amendments are intended to align the regulation with other regulatory frameworks and will come into force on a date to be indicated.

REGULATION TO AMEND REGULATION 31-103 RESPECTING REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS, EXEMPTIONS AND ONGOING REGISTRANT OBLIGATIONS Securities Act (chapter V-1.1, s. 331.1, par. (11) and (34))

  1. Section 1.1 of Regulation 31-103 respecting Registration Requirements, Exemptions and Ongoing Registrant Obligations Definitions (chapter V-1.1, r. 10) is amended by deleting the definition of the expression “Canadian financial institution”.
  2. Section 8.19 of the Regulation is amended by deleting, in subparagraph (a) of paragraph (2), subparagraph (iii).
  3. This Regulation comes into force on (indicate here the date of coming into force of this Regulation).
